Hawzah News Agency- Hujjat al-Islam Abbas Kamsari, Head of the Institute for Editing and Publishing the Works of Late Imam Khomeini, commemorated the anniversary of the establishment of Jamiat Al-Zahra University by the order of Late Imam Khomeini (RA), in a special program held in the meeting hall of the administration of this seminary institution with the presence of a group of seminary scholars. He said,” Jamiat Al-Zahra University is the largest women seminary in the Shia world and we gather here today to honor the anniversary of the establishment of this seminary.”

The head of the Institute for Editing and Publishing Late Imam Khomeini's Works further stated,” If we look at the history of the establishment of Jamiat Al-Zahra University, Late Imam Khomeini issued an order to establish it on August 31, 1984, and this order, like all the orders of the Imam, was supported by his wisdom and tact.”

Hujjat al-Islam Kamsari, referring to the activities of Jamiat Al-Zahra in the past 38 years, added,” This newly established seminary, which was launched by the order of the Late Imam, is one of the most influential scientific seminaries in the Islamic world and the largest scientific center of the women in the Shia world.”

The head of the Institute for Editing and Publishing the Works of Imam Khomeini further stated that the Iranian supreme leader's guidelines must have been effective in this direction, and said,” Who would have believed that thanks to this academic center, women would be able to discuss Islamic jurisprudence, principles, philosophy, history as well as other fields on a high level?

It must be noted that Jami'at al-Zahra is the world's main Shia seminary for women. It is located in Qom, Iran.

The seminary teaches female students only, both Iranian and foreign. Most students attend the college, though distance learning is also possible. If they are single, students may reside in the dormitories associated with Jami'at al-Zahra. Otherwise, they live at home.
